At times edgy, at others lyrical
Movement I is in a slow tempo. It opens with short, dramatic solo passages for each instrument. These develop into an animated yet lyrical conversation.
Movement II is faster paced with dissonant harmonies and more jagged rhythms.

The Washington Post praised the work for its “richness of imagination”. The Contemporary Music Forum of Washington premiered the piece in April 2001. The work received its European premiere under the auspices of the Aleph Ensemble in Paris in May 2007.
